Canóns do río Sil A Ribera Sacra is a magical place hidden in Galicia's interior. Spread across two provinces: Lugo and Orense with each municipality possessing something unique. A Ribera Sacra is landscape and wine, it's a place for inspiration formed wild waters, imposing rocks and deep valleys.

Different civilisations have left their mark on these landscapes and its history can be read on the rocks themselves which have been transformed into tombs, embossements, churches, monasteries and cloisters. This is an important part of the legacy and heritage and tells the past.

Modest and prudent temples complete the architectural array that forms part of the oldest concentration of Roman art in the world.

The Rivers Sil And Mino flow encased by mountainsides, leaving a course for the Catamarans to sail in. The most exciting thing in A Ribeira are its viewpoints. From the highest peaks right down to river level, contemplation is one of the most satisfying pastimes in A Ribeira, although not the only one.

Heroic viticulture, an apt name for the growing of vines in this land. Each vintage is a challenge that is rewarded by its excellent quality wines, those of Designation of Origin Ribeira Sacra. The wineries are the local standard and many can be visited to witness how heritage and tradition have been preserved.

A Ribeira Sacra is a way of life and this is what the visitor will discover.
